Steam game downloading on backup machine.

Hi Guys,

I have a query. If i install steam and download a game in my backup machine and copy the files back to my gaming rig, will the copied files accepted/validated?

Yes, you'll only need to copy paste the entire game's directory from Steamapps and then proceed to install the game from steam. I'll pick those files up and only updates will be downloaded.

a better option is use the backup and restore from steam setting and create backup and then restore it your comp, the copy paste option hasnt always worked for me ( particularly in linux), im talking about dota here

Yea. Use the steam client's in game option to use backup.
