Speakers at 1k

Hi everyone

Gotten sick of the very low volume of the internal speakers on my HP elitebook 8470p. Need suggestions for some cheap speakers, preferably ones that are externally powered. Dont' want to waste a USB port on them

Get mercury 2.1 channel speakers got them locally for 1.1k sound is good but you cannot compare them with the higher priced ones

would it then make sense to spend that 500 bucks more and go for the base range of edifier speakers ?

you want portable speakers or big 2.1 ones...I have bought some zebronic ones for 600Rs and it can replace the inbuilt speakers very well...but they are small and USB powered

The plan was to buy some really cheap speakers with usb power. But then couple of people convinced me to spend some more and get some good 2.1. So currently looking at the edifier's cheapest set, at 1.5k
