sp2 + boot screens

hi ppl
i have win xp pro slong with sp1. wen i try to install sp2, i get a msg sayin that the kernel user to start windows is not a windows file, and i shud read some online artice. the artical says that this msg comes wen a boot screen is installed and some prog like style xp is also installed. i have restored to original boot screen, and also disabled style xp, but the same prob exists....pls help.....

restore original boot screen
restore the boot.ini file from style xp
disable style xp
uninstall it and then try again
cuz versions before 2.11 are incompatible with sp2
or just get a newer version and try again
