Here are some advantages of 64 bit version OS:

And, I don't think there should be any disadvantages. Earlier, when it was released there were issues with incompatible drivers.But now, I think, those issues are almost resolved....

certainly... WOW64 technology used by MS will allow any 32bit software to run under Windows x64... but 1GB RAM with onboard video no need to spend extra on a x64 OS....

There I said, no... as if you have a 64bit processors you can run Windows x64 but it doesnt worth it...

Windows XP x64 would run under 256mb ram, its just the processor you have to make sure has 64bit support, *www.intel.com/products/processor_number/chart/celeron_d.htm there are few models of Celeron processors which all runs at 2.53 GHz so what us ur processors model number ??
