solve yellow film problem on monitor

well i have an old monitor(Hp vp17)
couple of months back when i was fantasizing about a "gaming pc" i decide to see if my old monitor works
i turned it on, attached it to my laptop via the monitors old VGA cable the windows home screen loaded up but the whole screen had a yellow tinge to it
the problem is not of the vga cable
btw the monitor is 5 years old

sorry but i forgot to mention my monitor is LCD.so degaussing was not possible

are you sure that the VGA cable is ok .. try with some another VGA cable and plug it into some gfx card.

I think problem is with vga cable because the problem you describe is usually accrued because of fault in color pins in vga cable.

^its not the problem with the vga
i used the same vga to connect my laptop to my lcd tv.but the lcd tv does'nt have yellow tint

ohh one more thing the monitors UI does'nt have a yellow tinge

then it's must be a problem with the monitor itself.

its problem with monitor. Coz mine is also turning yellow a bit though negligible. I increased the blue in settings from RGB
