I have a Sony Ericsson Z550i, I wanted to know that is it possible to take a backup of all the sms's thats in my inbox? I have a 512 MB M2 Card, are the sms's stored onto it?
Install Mobile Edit. If you have got a data cable, then connect it as usual. Allow the software to detect the phone. Once detected, it will automatically backup all your contacts, SMS and Call Registers. You can save this backup as a file, or you can export the messages or contacts.
Even if your phone isn't listed on their site, the software will still be able to detect your phone. Its worth a try...
^^ That means I will have to buy a data cable now. Isn't their a way by which, the inbox could be saved on to the memory card and then copied on to tha PC through a card reader.
Just download myphoneexplorer, then go to Extras menu -> Create backup & backup your whole phone including the SMS, after that just restore them. I did the same while migrating from K700i to K750i
