SMPS query

Hi,

Today I purchased the following

Intel DG33FB Mobo LGA775
C2D 2.66
2*1 GB Ram
sony 20x dvd writer
xfx 512MB 8600GT
zebronics chasis

i asked the dealer to give me a 500w SMPS, but he insisted on a 400 watt (comes with zebronics chasis). Will this be sufficient for the above config?

how will i know if the 8600GT is the udf3 or udf7 variety?

High without substance...
450 watts should be enough.
but i am not sure if you can do some overclocking or overvolting.
you will be better off with a 500 watts from zebronics. i have the same(Rs 1400) in bangalore.

is you 8600 DDR3 or DDR2 and could tell me the price too.

SMPS stands fpr Short Motor Power System. W stands for Watt. You can get a 100W smps which wont be enough for your computer.

AFAIK, SMPS stands for Switched Mode Power Supply.
