I have been using an APC back UPS ES 650 with my pc for the last couple of years. So far it has given me trouble free service and I've seldom experienced any issues with it.But of late I've observed that whenever there is a power outage and the PC runs on battery back-up then there's a strange "buzzing" sound that comes from my PSU/SMPS(Corsair VX 450)-the sound is pretty loud and can be heard even from a slight distance-but as soon as power is restored and the ups switches to mains power, the sound stops completely.

So what do you guys think could be the reason and how much chances are there that it could harm my pc in some way or the other and upto what extent? Is there a possibility that my PSU or UPS might be malfunctioning? Please note that i usually keep my computer running on battery for about 4-5 mins before shutting it down but I've never experienced any stability issues or PSU malfunction till date because of the noise factor.

I've set the sensitivity of my UPS to "high",which is the recommended setting for connecting delicate equipments(such as pcs) that are sensitive to changes in input voltage.

I think several members of this forum own APC upses -has anyone ever experienced a similar issue with their systems?Any suggestions on how this problem can be resolved will be greatly appreciated.
