Slow Torrents

Will be short, on this topic as its related to torrents.

> Been 7 months since i last used torrents
> Updated to latest version of uTorrent
> Started downloading
> Download speed on torrent doesnt cross 30kbps even on private trackers(usual speed on torrents is 700kbps)
> Direct download crosses 1MBps
> Searched around, uninstalled uTorrent, tried Vuze, qBitTorrent, BitTorrent, Deluge
> Those clients don't even start downloading(WTF?)
> Installed uTorrent 2.2.1 build 25154
> Same thing on it too
> Tweaked some settings and all, speed reaches 300kbps
> Speed is still very slow as compared to my average DL speed
> Need help as i am not used to these speeds and they are irritating

PS - Seeders:Leechers ratio easily crosses 3:1 on the torrent I'm downloading

Allow network access to Utorrent in windows firewall.
If already allowed, remove it from the list and then re add it.

lol if network access wasn't there then how would it download?(even at 30kbps)
Speeds are same after doing what you said.

Have you tried out Tixati? Anyway, try enabling "protocol encryption" in the "bittorrent" tab and uncheck "randomize port each start" in the "connection" tab. And are you sure your upload speed is not set too high or too low? It should be set to 60–80% of your original upload speed.

Enabled protocol encryption, and unchecked randomise port. Not much help. Taxati doesnt cross 100kbps wtf

I use mostly Tixati, qBittorrent and Vuze (I know it's a bloatware but I still like it). Deluge is good too but it has got some problems with magnet links.

You seem to be using Windows 7 in which number of half-open TCP connections was limited. Try increasing it (there are tools available online), and also do so in advanced tab in torrent client's preferences.

I'm on 2.2.1 uTorrent. It doesnt have ads and ads are not related to my problems.

Well i used to get ~700kbps the last time i used torrents but i will still contact MTNL.

i have a reason for using the old version of utorent. no ads + its accepted on IPT. and newer version was even slower.

figured what was wrong it was my modem. was using a 7.2mbps one. tried 14.2 mbps one and speed is now 600kbpsDL+50kbpsUP+130kbps direct simultaneously
