Hi,
There are a few flavours of linux clients available for sify. The best bet would be to use the official client (to download this, logout completely, then type in an address, say
www.sify.com ... you should come to a download page where you can download the GNU/Linux client). This client was infact programmed in RH9, so will work well on it (though not on other distro's)
There is also an unofficial client a made by Bhushan Tiwari, but as it was created on FreeBSD, it may not run so well on your RH9.
