shutdown dilemma

i use a P2P software 2 download songs. but i have to shutdown my system by 6:00AM... coz i'm on a night plan -> 10:00PM - 6:00AM free

i use the 'shutdown -s -f -t xyz' command where xyz -> some time limit in seconds

my brother says that this kinda shutdown from the command prompt results in a system crash. is it true?

please help!!

it downloads
it stops internet connection
it shuts ur pc down

He uses P2P so no question of FDM here...

@ Author - No it doesnt affect the system at all, however make sure that before you leave the computer, no documents remain open. Also the P2P software should support resumption.
