Should I get a laptop form U.S.??

Hi guys,

One of my relative is coming to india(from US) and I am thinking to get a laptop from there.
I wanted to know should I buy it from there or not, also which model should be apt. My main concern is that will I get the servicing in India or not.

Budget: 40-50K(Rs)

IMO You ll get a damn good config in 50k here as well. If you want a Macbook then get it from the US though.

I compared prices both for india and us...although the prices were same, there were huge disounts in US(1525 have $300 discount). Thats why I was asking.

Yep the 1525 is a damn good deal. You ll get a 1525 with t5550 and 3gb ddr3 at 800$ = 32k.

For 40k u can get a really really good laptop.
BUT

DON'T GET A TOSHIBA!!!

I got one from US , its mobo got screwed and their warranty didn't' extend to India. It lies brocked now . I had been told that I wld get international warranty by a 'friend'.
One thing u cld do is check that the same laptop is available in India, so that even if your laptops gets screwed there are spare parts available..

Oh and Apple wld give u excellent tension free service, though they are ofcourse pricy (out of reach?(for me))
