not sure about 7.1 setup, but 7.1 virtual surround using headphones makes hell lot of difference. I can listen to the enemy coming towards me to knife me from the back .. I did lot of testing for virtual surround in empty severs with couple of friends and I could see hear the difference.
yes..for a dream config, one would go for a 7.1 setup, but that STX has to be replaced with either XT (with 7.1 extension board) or Xonar Phoebus, as STX has only stereo output (unless you are using Digital/optical output).

7.1 setup in a dead calm room will be big advantage. But not applicable for Indian Environment, because we never build our house to be sound proof.

Its not a N00b Question actually. One can buy PCIe Riser or extender for such purpose.

The dumbest part was, the personal attack, which dotEXE would have reported.
