Sharing Internet Connection

i have a cable net.. a wire cums in my home which i directly insert 2 the ethernet port of my laptop.. i use a username n password 2 dialup n den i am able to browse.. now i want to share internet connection with my smartphone and tablet which router shuld i buy.. my budget is 2k and my house is of 1000sqft. i havea spare D-link DSL-2730U but i guess i cant use this one .. please help

700 bucks, or 80% extra for double speed. no thanks.

so, one would need a wifi dongle with this (to use with desktops). or it can be wired to desktop and wireless to laptop? (got 2 devices at home that need net sharing)

its not for speed but for range that 300mbps models are preferred.for a single floor with not much obstacles like many walls/glass etc a 150mbps model should just suffice but a good 300mbps model will cover not only whole floor with obstacles but can also provide signals to upper floor.every router has lan ports(usually 4) so it can be connected using both lan wire & through wifi.

like i said before best router for its price & it will work with windows 8.no model from any other company comes close to tp-link for a price of ~2000.

i bot tl-wr740N since i was short of budget.. i connectd everythng properly my phone works fine on the wireless but the prob is my laptop only works if i connect it thru lan o else it doesnt .. i dunno y so.. any help?
