see this configuration and suggest a HDD

i have to assemble a PC , the configuration which i have decided is as below :-

CPU = AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
MOTHERBOARD = ASUS M2NPV-VM
RAM = Kingston 2* 512MB 667mhz
Optical Drive = Asus DRW-1608P3S 16X DVD Writer

HDD = this is what i am unable to decide until now ...


please help me decide a HDD...
i need 160GB, but should i go for IDE or SATA , i have heard that SATA HDD are of very high failure rates .. but are of high speed while IDE HDD are slow compared to SATA but less failure rates ..
which one should i go for ?
i like samsung as i have one which is of high speed compared to seagate , is that true ?
i heard that WD is giving good support ?
what will BUFFER SIZE do to me ?


so i am confused ...

samsung or seagate or WD?
IDE or SATA ?
which model ?

please help me ..

Go for Seagate

Close your eyes n go for SATA

160GB SATA 2 7900.9 rpm

well what i think is that you should go for a seagate sata 7200rpm 250gb hdd...as it offers the best price per gb ratio... its available for 3375 at the itwares.com

i wld have gone for seagate 250 GB SATA .. RPM & model u can decide upon does not make real much of diff .. if money is not a big issue then go for a SCSI drive .. they are even faster
