Hi guys,

I have bought a new Seagate HDD of 250 GB Capacity just an hour ago.

The Model Number is : ST3250820SV and it seems to be built for Video surveillance applications...

My doubt is, is it good enough?

I also have another 200 GB (7200.9) ST3200827AS and It is quite okay interms of performance, except that it makes a whirring noise... I found the same noise in another HDD which is owned by a frnd. So, it seems to be a design flaw.

Any advice/review on the new HDD is appreciated.

Sorry, but google is not working today and yahoo brings up only results from shopping sites...

ofcourse seagate HDD is good if not the best..!! Opinions mite differ on which one to choose..but one possible drawback of Seagate HDD is the noise it makes and the its temp...

In same specification Hitachi would be better IMO..still Seagate is not bad..plus u must have 5yrs warranty.. ;)

seagate is the most stable hard disk IMHO. i hv read people having issues with WD, Samsung and Hitachi(very few service centres). good buy...:p

Thanks for the replies guys... My actual question is... Is this model better than the normal 7200 rpm drives?

I'm not buying any more HDDs for atleast 2 yrs....

And, can anyone help me with setting up RAID-0 on an Intel D101GGC Mobo. AFAIK, I think this mobo does not support RAID, Dual channel Memory etc... Am I correct?

Seagate is not bad ,but I'm a big fan of WD. two 200gb Western Digital+one 40gb for extra storgae harddisks.Their door to door replacement is great if your hd goes bad . .
