Scheduling Shutdown

Windows XP Professional
I use reliance usb modem and so it comes bundled with the huawei data card software.
I also use flashget to download stuff at night since i have a night unlimited plan.In flashget, i have scheduled all downloads to pause at 6 in the morning and automatically shutdown.
While the downloads do stop at 6, the shutdown process isn't able to complete because the data card software prompts me whether i want to disconnect or not. It halts the shutdown process and the connection remains active for which i get charged.
I wanted to know how to override this prompt or how to force a shutdown in a situation like this.

calculate the time in seconds after which u want to shutdown. say it is 12 midnigh and u want to shutdown comp at 6 am, it means 6x3600sec = 21600sec. let this be x (i.e. x=21600)

now in run, type

shutdown -s -f -t x

and press enter. the computer will shutdown after the designated time. the -f perimeter stands for forced shutdown and no matter what, your computer will shut down
