I have a AMD 3800+ on a ASUS M2nPV-VM and 2 SATA HDDs -one 160GB & the other 250GB in RAID . The system is working on WinXP sp2. The System recognizes the 160 GB with all partitions but fails to show the 250GB in My comp. The BIOS shows both HDDs. Device Manager also shows both the HDDs as working properly.

If device manager shows it, then it has been detected fine.

Go to computer management> disk management and see if the disk has been formatted and partitions created

Hi,

I too had the same problem, however, got it resolved. All you have to do is in BIOS change the drive settings from AHCS to IDE and it should recognize.

Lets know if this helps.

if it is in RAID, then in all likelyhood it is in RAID1 config - for stability

using unequal HDD capacities will result in RAID recognising the lesser of the 2 capacities as the capacity of the RAID

I think this be the prob...lower cap hdd is detected else nothing prob with drivers,,,n hardware recognization...problem is windows can not use it for storage..but detects(as it appears in device manager)

If you want to use the space of each HDDs individually then arrange them in RAID 0

but u will still b able to use only 160GBs of the 250GB HDD

90 GB will still reman unused

The HDD is in Raid O, the files in the HDD are not being seen. In fact the drive does not show up in My comp.
In the device manager it shows up,but doesn't show anything in the volumes, although it contains more than 150gb of data:(
