My System Configuration is as follows
ASUS K8S Maotherboard, AMD 64bit 2800+, 512 MB DDR RAM and 120 GB Seagate SATA HDD.

The Problem is that whenevr i try to install Linux on to my system the installation does not detects my SATA HDD. What drivers will i need to install Linux on my sytem? Is there some procedure to install Linux onto a SATA HDD?

Try fedora core 4. I have a similar system except for i have Maxtor 120 GB SATA and an MSI nFORCE 3 board. Fedora Core 4 installs without any problem. Even Ubuntu installs without any problem.

Go to *shipit.ubuntu.com and register there you will get FREE ubuntu CDs! You dont even have to pay for mailing charges!!

Then u should search on the asus site for linux drivers of your SATA chipset! No other solution!
