Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4350 color offset problem

I have a pretty old computer which has an HD 4350 1 GB in it (Dad uses it for his work). This previous Sunday, I opened my card, and gave it to a friend (as he wanted to see of his card was faulty or not). I got it today and when I plugged in the card, all the color changed from the BIOS post screen, to the GRUB menu (should appear violet but appears black). On login to windows I see that red has completely changed to black, and I cannot make any difference between green and yellow. So, I removed the card, and started the computer and this time, all the colors are normal.

So what is the problem and what is the solution?

make sure your friend did not damage the gfx cards memory chips or any other components .. try remounting the card.
