RAMPAGE!!!!
anybody tell me the shop add where I can get all component in kolkata

MD/Vedant. But I don't think MSI GTX560 Twin Frozr II OC is available anywhere in Kol. You may have to settle for Sapphire HD6950 1GB/2GB. Also availability of SeaSonic in Kol is doubtful. If unavailable get Corsair VX550W@4.5k instead

now Intel DP67BG will be tough to find. least you can try is Gigabyte GA P67A UD3 for 9.5k. after that ASUS P8P67 PRO for 12k~. (if you want to oc)

my suggestion -

I guess 6950 2gb is 16.1k? But if unlocking to 6970 is required, then i suggest the gigabyte 6950 2gb as suggested by rchi84 @ 16.5k. Msi afaik cannot be unlocked. Ask rchi84 for more info. He has unlocked his 6950 2gb.

But won't there be cooling problems in the reference cards? 6950 is one hot card. Gigabyte will be better for unlocking purpose as thats non - reference.

^^Calling all 6950 2GB owners - unlock details.
I have unlocked my Sapphire 6950 2 GB with shaders only patch using wizzards script. I urge everyone to use wizzards patch not just use a 6970 bios for the following reasons :-
1. Less risk, the script just modifies the bios to enable the additional shaders leaving everything else untouched. The 6950's memory is rated at 1250 mhz unlike the 6970's which is rated at 1500 mhz. The timings are also tighter for the 6970, so man people believe that this is what is causing permanent damage to a small number of flashed 6950's. So far no one has reported an issue with just unlocking the shaders.
2. You get voltage control using AfterBurner. Afterburner does not support voltage control on 6950 flashed with 6970 bios.
3. Lesser power consumption/noise/temperature. I am running at 850/1400 stock voltages and it runs very stable for hours on furmark and kombuster and the temperature hits 79 max at 45 % fan speed (custom more aggressive fan profile).
The only disadvantage I faced is that I have to run a overclocking software like Afterburner to bump up clocks to 6970 levels.

I am happy to share some news. I have purchased a new mid range gaming rig and have ordered a Gigabyte Radeon 6950 2GB version. From what I can tell so far, it is the reference version with dual bios..

on gigabyte 6950 -

well guys, just to give a quick update, I've been tweaking away with Afterburner.

On stock volts (1.1V) I am able to match the stock 6970 clocks of 880/1375.

the only issue is that it isn't furmark stable BUT (get this), every other benchie like Vantage, 11, Unigine and all my games run well enough as long as powertune is set at +20%.

with a fan profile set at 70% on load, i get around 65 Degrees and the card idles around 40. Room temps are around 34 degrees so I am quite happy.

Back to gaming at 6950 clocks though its nice to know there's more under the hood.

^^ Thats good. But rchi84's 6950 2gb was unstable in furmark after unlocking. The above guys are also facing the same issue.

But setting the fan profile at %70 will make the card lot noisier than stock. Otherwise, the reference card is a hot card. Better to buy non-reference design.

Vicky its rchis post of 70% profile and reference card. And he says he is happy with whatever settings he made.

And he says everything including games runs fine except furmark.

^^ Yup i know that jas. His card is working very well and returning excellent performance. Its only unstable in furmark but that is not at all necessary in real world usage. Unlocked 6950 2gb are extremely vfm now.
