Samsung Galaxy S3 or LG Nexus 4

Im in a dillema between these two phones . I want a decent gaming performance and support for atleast a year . I have shortlisted these two devices . Please suggest me which one shld i get

Nexus 5 is the best choice. If out of budget then get Nexus 4 hands down.

the only reason not to buy n4 would be it's onscreen overlay buttons and no external memory support. Rest is for you to decide.

Many of us LOVEs this including me.
Capacitive and hard keys may not work properly after some time due to wear and tear.
You may be aware of samsung's service, just imagine what will happen next.

Well, Nexus 4 has my vote. More value for money(faster, has Vanilla and upgradable). It has no microSD slot though(inbuilt 8-16 GB). The front camera is a bit jittery, if you really care about that.

I am n N4 user since last 7 months... But my vote is for S3..

Vanilla android is bakvas.. updates lol got 3 ota in 2 weeks ... but nothing new.. only show off 4.4.2..
Battery not good as compared with S3..
And the most IMP screen .. u will love S3's amoled..
SD slot..superb cam are in favor of S3...

Yeah I knw I fought with many people in my own fanboyism for N4.. But now that's over.. (naye ke 9 din like that)
S3 also got 4.3.. do not that much behind... and trust me 4.4.2.. is nothing special...

or get a used S4...
or get a Xperia ZL or ZR....much better....

I have optimus g at&t variant on top of which nexus 4 was built. Trust me other than camera my baby beats S3 in every aspect , the display is one of the best I have seen particularly due to One glass.

I wonder how inferior nexus 4 is.

I compared N4 & that phone side by side, believe me there is not much difference....... Both cameras are same(front n rear).... Even same battery life, approx........ Only advantage of SD slot & slimmer phone

6 months ago, I bought N4 over S3, simply due to the 2GB RAM & faster upgrades.... Till now nothing major was there in 4.3 & 4.4
Moreover I'm missing the network video calling option.......... sometimes my father trolls me with the S2
So, if I had to buy a phone today, I might have bought S4 Mini, because i currently carry 2 phones

LG OP G has a very vibrant screen than N4.. I compared it.
yeah if I have to buy a phone today I will go foe GS4.. I am missing GS3's Amoled badly....

As far as it goes with the at&t optimus g , it wins over the S3 from my point of view. If someone complains about anything other than its average camera and delicateness , it would be just too much biased towards S3.

I do accept lg's poor upgrade policy but anything after 4.0 is considerably okay. Plus it has several roms being easy to port from nexus.
Just telling the truth and not being a fan boy. S3 is good but not better.

hmm hard to explain..
I was in total hype of Nexus device.. Got it after India release.. Sold My GS3 for it..
In just one week got bored of Stock Android. then not so vibrant colors of N4 started to piss me... Then avg battery life...
& for the reason I got nexus was Fast updates, but again nothing special in 4.3 & 4.4 then 4.4.2 same boring vanilla android..
Again Camera was disappointing.. (though I don't use it that much, but on occasions it feels..)

Only plus of Nexus IMO is Raw power.. which is good for gaming & multitasking, other than that one should go for skinned Android with lots of features.. (if u say that skiined android comes with bloat ware..then simply root & remove it..)

U used custom roms , kernels , patches and various other tweaks available on xda ??
truth about nexus 4 will bi evident to you only after a while when others will stop getting update.
ask those who were stuck on 2.3 and didnt got upgrade to 4.x , while most nexus devices did. The pain to run unstable and buggy 4.x is just unbearable.
And its not for those who love Heavy UI , it's for people who love to fiddle and try different stuff on their phone due to mass availability of various stuff. Being a nexus user yourself I am sure you know about these already. Maybe your approach or liking is different. Its about personal liking too.
