I got a call few minutes from an Unknown number saying

"Sir, we are calling from an NGO. Bla bla bla. We need an help from you. There's a small girl named XXXX who is having hole in her heart. His father is a labour and he's not earning much to borne the cost of the surgery. The surgery costs X lakhs. We need an contribution from you".

I interrupted her, if there's any site where i can check about the NGO and she replied "You can check about risinglife.org and right now, we're online - so if you can donate money online, we will confirm you immediately". I said i first have to check the website and if i'm willing i'll do it online with the amount that i'm willing to transfer.

She replied "Ok sir. Can i call you back, after 1 hour to confirm any news?".
I replied "You're kind of pushing me. If i am willing, i will surely do it. Bye" and ended the call.

After a minute, i got the message below.

Though they've a official facebook page, the whole conversation is kind of fishy & pushy. I googled & founded this - RISING LIFE - NGO FRAUD
I do sometimes transfer money to my organisation sponsored NGO programs, but this call is somewhat itching me.

Anyone had experience with them before?

Not from th'm , but have received similar calls in the past.
This one seems to have a registration number as well : REGISTRATION NO: 8900705 , but was registered in previous year only.

BTW , isn't it true that kids under certain age are operated free of cost , specially in case of poor kids with heart or problems related to major organs ???

never fall victim to such calls.if you really want to help such people/children keep an eye on english newspapers(especially times of india or its website) as i have seen many such donation request ads there.anyone calling you to ask for money/info no matter who(bank, insurance, ngo etc) is a fraud.

@Rishi,"free" means no doctor's charges but still includes charges for instruments/parts/room etc & this is why you see such request ads.e.g.a heart patient may require a valve which costs ~50k & usual doctor's fee(heart specialist & his/her team) will be approximately as much or more.

They've called me twice, after that message. But i didn't attend.
I've already told'em that, "I will do online transfer, if am willing to do it". Still, they're like forcing/pushing me via calls..

oh wow...Xenforo!!!
Just say you're not interested to donate. They'll stop annoying you. If they still try to force you, simply say you don't have the money. I really never heard of an NGO making direct calls for donations.

NGO wont ever make calls asking for donations.
2 days back I received a similar call. When I asked about the details of their org, I could tell that the guy was making up. He couldnt even tell his org website even existed or not.
So, dont fall for such scams.
