Credibility of recovering deleted files by any recovery tool depends upon the amount of data written there after. It doesn't depend upon the time. So even if you have deleted files some months ago, but didn't perform extensive writing on it, you have greater chances of recovering them.
To add to this, let me tell what exactly happens..
When you delete some files, the files are erased completely, rather the system marks that deleted Sector as writable. So till you overwrite with new files on that marked sector, there is greater chances of recovering the deleted files. If overwritten, the probility becomes very less and you may end up getting some fragments of deleted file.
