Resizing partitions.............

I have a Samsung 40 GB Hard Disk with 4 partitions :

C: - 14.8 GB
D: - 5.58 GB
E: - 16.5 GB
F: - 2.27 GB

Windows XP Professional is installed on D: & Windows 98 is installed on C:. The files being used by Windows XP are on F: & the files being used by Windows 98 are on E:.

Now when I open Partition Magic 8.0, It shows 2 Disk Drives :

Disk Drive 1: Windows 98 ( C: ) & Windows 98 ( E: )
Disk Drive 2: Windows XP ( D: ) & Windows XP ( F: )

Now, I am able to resize the C: partition and the space that is left is transferred to E:, but what I want is the space should go to D: (i.e. All the partitions sholud be 10 GB) but I am unable to do this.

Please tell me how can I do the above said in detail.

1. While resizing do not specify where to add up the free space.
2. Then Add the freed space to your extended partition
3. Now you can set the drive D: to recieve all the free sapce

Moreover directly specifing the drive name will cause ur resizing actions to be slower as it will resize C:, then add up to Extended partition and the shift D: upwards and then add it up to E:. And let me tell you this takes a whole lot of time. My adviceis to backup your bootloaders and config files and create the rescue diskettes.....

R U READY WITH FORMAT OF UR DRIVE IF YES THEN USE DM.EXE ( DISK MANAGER ) THAT IS AVAILABLE ON NET ,USE ADVANCE OPTION AND RE PARTITION YUOR HDD

IF U WANT TO NOT DO THIS THAN IN XP USE ADMINISTRATIVE TOOL IN WHICH THERE IS COMPUTRE MANAGEMENT USE IT AND RESIZE UR HDD
