Refreshing My Copy OF Windows XP

I have been using a pirated copy of windows XP and have been facing a few probs. ANywyas i got a Genuine copy OF Windows XP now and i want to install it on my PC . i however donont want to lose any of my exixting settings.
IS that possible ?

Xp can upgrade Xp. So go ahead , chhose upgrade option while install. there should be no problems.

No need to re-install XP... Just follow the instructions at *xphelpandsupport.mvps.org/how_do_i_change_the_windows_xp_p.htm

You can use the "Files and Settings Transfer" wizard to back up the settings on your pc,then format and install the genuine xp.Restore the settings using the wizard again.

If the upgrade option is not there... then just backup everything in the Os drive to another partition and reinstall the os..

why dont u try changing ur key and check if u r still facing any difficulties??? I dont think u will, still depends upon what problem were u facing as u dint mention it
