Recover files from C drive after formatting.

hi all,

Please suggest me a software that can recover my "my downloads" folder from my previous installation of windows.

It would be great if the software is completely free but do tell me if nominally priced option is a better way to go.

Try Recuva but don't have high hopes.

Try Easy Recovery Professional .
But if you have used that partition i.e. data overwritten, there is less chances of recovery.
Also, Video Audio and Image files may be recovered but forget about Documents.

That's why its always advisable to route your downloads to other drives instead of C.
Just have the system related components alone in C drive.

If you have updated to Win 10, just follow this so that the problem won't be repeated in future.

For recovery, you can try Recuva -Deep scan mode, and leave it overtime depending on the storage.

Downloads folder is what most people forget to take backup.

Very less chance of recovering by yourself and also time consuming.
If u want to recover the data desperately then give it to data recovery specialist who charge based on data size.
