Rear headphones not working..

hi
i have installed a new creative audigy sound card for my t6100 creative 5.1 speakers.
the problem is that the rear speakers are giving no sound when any song or movie is played. but in creative-audio-control and windows-sound-device-settings the speakers seem to work fine and sound also comes. also the rear speakers work fine when the wires are plugged using a splitter in the onboard stereo sound card
using vista, intel dg33 mobo, creative audigy value sound card.

thanks..that solved the problem
but that would be forced surround sound, cant the applications like-itunes produce 5.1 sound
