I recently bought a PC with the following configuration:

1. Athlon 64 3000+ (939) CPU
2. 256x2 400MHz DDR RAM
3. 80 GB SATA HDD
4. MSI-RS480 (IGP) Mobo
5. Combo and FDD
6. 17" Flat CRT
7. WinXP+SP2

Earlier, I hadn't heard the loud rattling sound given out by the FDD on Windows logon. But now this rattling sound can be heard on Windows startup despite taking the following measures:

1. Disabling Floppy Seek in the BIOS.
2. Unchecking Restore previous folder windows at logon in Folder Options's View tab and
3. Gving a value of 91 for NoDriveTypeAutoRun in the Registry editor.

What do I do now?

well well well!!!! thats not a problem.. there are certain fdds that make the noise.. i had the problem also.. it was a p3 500 Mhz about 5 yrs back.. the floppy used to make that noise and it even makes today,, though i dont use that machine much) but the floppy is working fine.. all i can say is that try changing the fdd if u dont want the sound.. if that doesnot solve then there may be some other problem... like searching for a floppy during log on and as it dosnot find any floppy it makes a round--- but that is secondary
