Hi!
I hav P4 2.4gz, intel 845gvad2 mother board, earlier i had 384 MB of ram one of 256Mb and another of 128Mb. and now i hav installed a new RAM of 512MB instead of my 128MB ram keeping 256 MB along. But my Motherboard detects only 512Mb of ram and not that of 256 mb, although both RAm are PC3200(200MHz).
PLease help how can i use both the ram?????

BLah.. Blah..blah.......
check if your mother board supports more than 512 or not, if it does, check both your modules on one of your friends pc if it shows full amount of ram then one of your module is faulty

Your motherboard supports upto 2 GB RAM. See the essential specs at this link

If everything's working normally, there's no reason why your mobo should detect only one RAM stick - even if they are rated at different speeds. Is the 256MB stick detected when you turn it on without the 512MB piece?

As your motherboard is fairly old, the problem may be imperfect contacts at the RAM slots, especially if you have been having rainy weather recently. Remove both RAMs, wipe the contact edges with cotton cloth and push them in again firmly, and see if they both get detected.
