RAM Problem.

I have 2 ram of the same brand and specs, 1 is 4GB and the other is 2GB(Dynet DDR3 1333).They used to work together perfectly fine till yesterday.Now they are not working when i insert both the RAMs.They work fine independently in any slot.

Inserting both RAMs gives me post beeps and there's nothing on the screen.

what is your m/b model no. Check the duel channel memory access is disable or not.

this happens with loose contact of between memory module and it's slot - make sure both ram modules are firmly and properly mounted - first insert the second ram module and after that install the first ram module ( close to cpu ). Reset CMOS Setting by removing and placing the CMOs battery back again - power on your pc.

BTW, how many beeps you are hearing when there's no displaay ?/

@joe MOBO : G41MT-S2.How do I check if dual channel is disabled or not ? By default it is enabled so by resetting the bios should have fixed it..but its still the same.

I don't think it is because of loose connection as both the ram works on any of the slots unless only one ram is inserted.
Tried resetting the bios..no result.I will have to check how many beeps occur.

^^ I've faced exact same issue - two ram modules installed together works only after installing them for 5-6 time. I've Cleared CMOS - install the first or second Ram module first, start the pc - boot into OS, Shutdown and then install the second module and start the pc again - only after doing this pc successfully recognized both ram modules.

@topgear will try doin that.
there are no beeps any more..there's a black screen and the PC restarts after few secs.pressing the bios key gets me to the start screen which says there's 6GB ram and it is running in flex mode..after that it restarts.

hi bud did you try different 2 rams ins your pcs??????

This worked for me
now the issue is, it shows "the memory runs in flex memory mode" .Is there any way to run these rams in dual mode??

^^ yur memory modules are running both at single and dual channel mode both - you have 4 GB and 2GB ram modules - so from 6GB total 4GB ( using 2GB per both ram modules ) is running at dual channel mode and the rest 2GB of the 4GB ram module is running at single channel mode.
