RAM frequency

frnd i recently purchased the dell inspiron 15r se ....which was supposed to hv a 4gb ram with 1600MHZ(accourding to dell official site) ....but when i ran geekbench...i was surprised to see the score as it showed 4gb ram with 799MHz...can any1 tell me y is it so?? pls frndz reply ...

That correct, 800MHz dual data rate = 1600 Mhz.

No need to worry. :)

that 1600 is not MHz but MT/s(megatransfers per second).you will not find MHz written after the values 1333,1600,1866,2100 in official product specification or official name.

P.S.this is why net can never be as reliable source as good old books.

the above r the 2 links...pls check the Memory ...it has 1600mhz for mac while 799 mhz for the inspiron...

dell geekbench link is correct but macbook pro is wrong.also can't believe dell official link also states 1600MHz!
MT/s is not equal to MHz though they seem similar.see this link for reference about how MT/s should be used in benchmarking:
