I have an some question about an OEM products. I know i am a distributor but from your side i want to make perfect discussion.

a) This is OEM software that is supposed to be sold only with hardware (like PC/Laptop etc) and is illegal to sell as separate license.

1. When I register and try to update, it will clearly find out that I have unauthorized version of software and hence it will not allow me to update and upgrade the software

It is illegal ?

OEM copies have d very same features as d commercially available copies

but since OEM copies r provided 2 COs sellin branded comps, dey do not have d glitzy packaging or documentation dat is provided with d commercially avalable copies

other dan that dere is no differenc in d actual features available in OEM copies from a corresponding commercial copies

the difference is that u dont get actual cd rom in most cases and u may get recovery cd's which come preloaded with lot of crap to neutralise its less cost...

The problem is that you will never have just the Windows XP (eg.) cd.
I don't know about Dell...anyone?
