I have a 14-inch CRT monitor that has now completely given up. It no longer starts now. Power LED also does not glow. (PC starts as usual and I can shut it down using the power button on keyboard.)
Earlier monitor would give a kind of flicker or sometimes the picture would roll for a few minutes after starting the PC and it then would stabilize the display eventually after about 5 minutes.
Since it’s very old, > 7 years, I opened it and checked the front panel on/off switch, which seemed fine. The SMPS from PC cabinet also shows the 230 V power at the output, which is fed to the monitor.
Now my query is
Is it possible that the earlier slight flicker was due to problems with faulty on board Video or could it mainly be due the faulty Monitor? I don’t have any ways of checking now so is the query.
Thanks,
