Query of ram installed in pc.

Hi guys ,
Just want to clarify this matter with u guys when i doesnt have my graphic card . my system which contain win 7 it shows that 3.50 ram is available out of 4 gb, but when i installed my new gpu in my system it shows full 4gb ram is available .
what is this guys i cant understand this. can anybody rectify this one.

Earlier 500 MB of RAM was being shared with your on-board GPU. Now as you have a discrete GPU, there is no need.
