Well buddy security is something which is always less no matter how much resources you allocate for it. 
Once you are online whether it be through a proxy server or a direct connection , there is always a risk of security breaches.

proxy server means no security at all and more if u use anonymous free pubic proxies
well the sftware like zone alarm will protect u by using friewall ..better to optimize ur connection speed instead of proxy servers
