Is the Nvidia GT 520 MX good for playing games and heavy software for programming, photo and video editing?

And which would be better Intel i3 with 2gb discrete graphics or Intel i5 2450 with 1 gb discrete graphics??

2 GB Graphics or 1 GB graphics...those things are actually gimmik. Tell us about the exact model number of the CPU and GPU.
However, a i3 2310M + 2 GB GT 520MX is slower than a i5 2400M + 1 GB GT 520MX. GT 520MX is a low end card and they can even hardly utilize 1GB memory; 2 GB is just gimmick, nothing else.

Ram is 4gb expandable to 8gb
My requirements are gaming and heavy programming and photo video editing
also should I consider Intel 3000 hd
