I tried installing Ubuntu 7.10 from the digit december issue but i am getting the following error after selecting the Option "Start or Install Ubuntu" the first one.

[218.976000] bcm43xx : Error : microcode "bcm43xx_microcode5.fw" not available or load failed.

The same error keeps repeating and i have to exit the setup using Ctrl+Alt+del.

I thought that it might be problem with the dvd so i tried making its image with nero. The image was made without any errors. So what may be the problem.

My lapto is Hp Pavilion DV6502au with Nvidia 7150M graphics and AMD 1.8ghz turion....

Please help me out...
And how is the look and feel of Open SUSE 10.3 compared to Ubuntu 7.1

Wire muncher!
This error appears due to bad/missing/incompatible firmware for you Wifi device. I think the detection can be disabled at start.

For exact instructions wait for someone who has the same wifi card.

God of Mistakes...
There is a problem for Ubuntu with HP Pavilion Laptops.

Whenever u will get error, just press enter. It will give you the shell.
Then type startx. You might get GUI !

Best Luck ! I also had same problem. But now using Ubuntu on my HP Pavilion Laptop ! :)

One more thing,

When it starts booting, press F6 and pass boot options as --noapic --nolapic
