Problems : File Association & Firefox bookmarks

Helllo

I am facing a file association problem i.e. I am not able to run any .exe or softwares installed.
I am getting error message :

The File does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.
Create an association in the set associations control panel.

But when I run files as (RUN AS ADMINSITRATOR), it works.



My second query is:
How can I backup of the bookmarks added in my firefox browser ?

1. Seems virus problem. Post your HijackThis log file contents.
2. You can take backup by exporting them using "Bookmarks -> Organize Bookmarks -> File -> Export".

Seems the File Extension was screwed up (if you did some tinkering or something)

Download *www.dougknox.com/xp/fileassoc/xp_exe_fix.zip

Can you open Regedit (run as Administrator), C:\Windows\regedit.exe

After that, File -> Import -> Location of the .reg file.

Do Scan your system for Malware, I'd suggest running System File Checker too (sfc /scannow in Start->Run)
