Problem with xerox phaser

I have a xerox phaser 3117 b/w printer. Whenever I tried to print in a bulk amount 3-4 pages are taken by the roller simultaneously. Please suggest how to get rid of this problem.

PS: One of my friends want to buy a colour laser printer within 10k.
He is not quite sure whether he should go for canon/hp or something else.
He previously had a hp deskjet and didnot have quite good experiences about it.
Please suggest some worthy printer.
It will be mainly for home use.

For your problem, I think you are pushing paper too far into the feeder.
Keep it little less inside than that.

You might also be overloading the feeder with too much paper.
Use a little less than try.

I admit probably i'm pushing the paper quite too much. 'll try 2 follow ur advice later on.

How much less is less?

I had problem while printing 7 pages. and 4 of them simultaneously got stuck in the feeder.

I suggest, if you have the manual- read it.
There will be a page on usage where it will be written on max number of page to use.

Else, try around 10 pages first. Keep them such that they just enter the mouth of the feeder.
