problem with DirectX and Graphics Card

i have a NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 M64 AGP card with 32 MB RAM. It has always been working properly and after installing d drivers i've been able to view settings ang i see dat it works in AGP mode 4X[4X i set from d bios]. however recently after i installed d drivers and opened d ctrl panel it showed me this message

my AGP card was working in PCI mode. i checked d bios but everything seemed to be as i normally keep it. i've been installing these drivers without problem for a long time

also recently i installed DX10 intead of DirectX9. the installation ran normally. however the comp now recognises it as directX 3 as shown

i reinstalled DirectX 9 without uninstalling DX10 [as i did not know how to do it], but it made no difference as , although the intallationran normally it did not show any change in DirectX version status

me think dat both problems are interelated

I don't think DirectX 10 is something that's installable yet. They had an SDK around but thats just for Vista users. You're on Vista?

That DirectX version thing is totally odd but does it hamper your card's performance?

It might also be that you don't have appropriate AGP drivers for your motherboard installed. Try installing those (An example for Intel, see here) For rest like VIA, or AMD there must be the same around..

i forgot 2 install d mobo drivers after my last install. i did it and now its showing me my actual settings

but as u can c below my directx problem still remains
an intresting thing dat i noticed was dat when i opened my soundcard ctrl panel [realtek], in the info tab my directX verion is being shown correctly

one intresting thing dat i saw was dat after installation directx didn't ask my comp 2 start up

do u know the program 2 do d directx diagnostics [d one where it plays a sound in many frequencies and for display showsa square bouncing within another square]
