problem wid usb drive

hi fenz,
in ma fren's system,when ever a pen drive or some other device is connected to the usb, the device is getting detected (i can see the safely remove hardware thing in the system tray) but the pen drive is not visible in My computer.
also some problem in the sound.i checked his sound driver even then no sound can b heard. also his speaker is working properly(tried it wid tv, its working properly). this problem is only over the past 2 weeks.. before that both were working perfect.. plz help me in sortin out these problems..

try connecting it on other usb ports. if not make sure that usb driver is intalled on ur comp. if installed, then re install it

intel p4 2.4Ghz,512mb ram,865 mother board,XP SP2...
other device like portable hard disk,memory card reader etc..

i tried connecting in other USB ports ,but had the same problem. i installed sound driver even it didnt work..
any links for USB driver??!! somehow sort out this problem frenz..

Then it is the work of a Virus, which has edited ur registry.
I am sorry to say but
Reinstall XP!!!

was it working b4?did u scan ur comp?what antivirus u use?what does it show in device manager about usb hosts?

Open Device Manager and under USB, see if there is any yellow or red marking.
