Dear Digitians,

I've recenly bought a new HP laptop embedded with following configuration :

Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 1.67 GHz , Level 2 cache 2 MB, 667 MHz Bus speed

Ram : 2GB Ram

HDD : 160 GB (speed = 5400 rpm)

Graphic Card : NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8400M GS

Video RAM : up to 383MB total graphics memory with 128MB dedicated

Max Resolution : 1280 x 800

I'm currently playing CRYSIS:Warhead and Timeshift on my machine very smoothly.
But facing problems while playing 007:Quantum of Solace, the game runs but very slow with jerk, i tried changing the setting too, but all in vain.

Can anyone help me with the settings / solutions i should follow to resolve this.

Also looking forward to play FARCRY 2, NFS Undercover and Alone in the Dark on my laptop, will that be possible?

Any suggestion will be appreciable.

Umm... update your drivers. That solves FPS problems easily :).

All the mentioned games will run smoothly on low settings.

Happy gaming.

That's because the bloody game is capped at 30 frames. A higher graphic card may be able to sustain sudden FPS drops but on lower end cards it won't be able to handle much. What settings are you currently playing on? Is the V-Sync setting tuned ON or OFF? Lower the resolution if possible.

hi i m new 2 this 4-m

here i post my results for 8400m gs 128mb for far cry 2 and nfs undercover

i am not a very serious gamer and play everything at the lowest settings

farcry 2:640x480,real trees,fire high,medium physics-45 fps max,23 fps min
there is a console command in far cry 2 which caps the fps to our requirement.
command : gfx_maxfps "value",where value is the fps value which u want.
i limited this to 24 and then the game was very smooth.

at 800x600,hdr on bloom on,medium settings:max 27 fps,min 15 fps,not very smooth
heats up the system.barely playable.

nfs undercover:1024x768 res.,everything high,no anti-aliasing,no vsync-max 42 fps,min 21 fps,but the game looks pathetic at high settings
at 800x600,640x480- at medium settings the gameplay is extremely smooth and looks better.

going 2 try crysis warhead.........

machine specs:dell vostro 1500,intel core 2 duo t5470 1.6ghz,2 gb 667 mhz ddr2 ram,5400 rpm 80 gb hdd,8400m gs 128 mb.win xp pro
