Problem in Internet Explorer

I was using Win98se & IE6. I was unable to browse any javaaplet. The system never responded. but any other hyperlink was functioning. when i was closing the site, confirmation for message for error sending was appearing with following details : "AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2600.0 ModName: newdotnet7_14.dll
ModVer: 7.0.0.14 Offset: 0000fe56".
i installed javaruntime, then re-nstalling ie6 and updation from microsoft website. nothing worked out. Also, find command was not working in internet explorer. error message used to come. Anyway, i got rid of the head ache by formatting and re-installing windows98. but i would like to know why the things happened.....pl help

the description of the file newdotnet7_14.dll seems to be the cause for the
problem newdotnet is a known spyware which integrates with ie 6

newdotnet is spyware. u can uninstall it thru ur addremove programs or use 'adaware' to remove it. then also clean ur pc junk with 'ccleaner'.
