why do u wanna spend on 300watts??
go for 400 or atleast 350watts ..

Its not about ill-effects...

If you put a 400W SMPS... it doesnt mean that your computer will use 400w,
it will use much less, but you will have extra capacity,
So, if you change any component like GPU etc... you dont need to think about changin smps

More importantly, the new motherboards that are coming now...
require 350W SMPS.
