Powerful gaming rig for 250K

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: The rig is purely for gaming purposes. I have a 4k TV, so i might connect the rig to it once in a while but i intend to game on my 1080p monitor mostly.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: Have a budget of Rs. 2,50,000. Can extend to a max of Rs. 2,80,000.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Nope

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 10 Home (need to buy this as well, it's available for 7,999 right?)

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: Already have a 2TB drive. I wanted to put in an SSD to reduce the boot times. Don't want to spend too much on the SSD. I think the drive should just be enough for the OS installation only. (256GB or 512GB should be more than enough).

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Already have it and its got a resolution of 1080p.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: I already have a CM Stryker cabinet and a 700W Corsair PSU. If the new rig requires any more power, i would like to buy a new PSU as well then. Need to buy a decent gaming keyboard and mouse too. Any decent speakers will do as well. Like the creative ones that come around 2K.

I also, have a GTX 660. Since DX12 is here, i was not planning on changing this but i can only buy it now or it will be never. So i would like to upgrade to a powerful GPU as well. Don't want to go for Titan-X cause i feel like it's too expensive for it's cost to performance ratio. Any card that can give me 60-100 fps on 1080p for most game will suffice. I might just put them in SLI (GTX 660 and the new card. There are boards that support hybrid SLI/Crossfire right? I'm no Nvidia fanboy and if the AMD card is better, then by all means, please suggest)

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Have to buy before 8th Aug, 2015. It's the ultimate deadline, after that no PC. :(

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Built my last PC on my own. Will build this one as well.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:I live in Delhi. I'm planning to buy most of the stuff from Nehru Place but if i get a better deal on some online shop, then why not.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Have already shortlisted a few components:

Processor - Intel 3.3 Ghz LGA 2011 i7-5820K Intel 3.3 Ghz LGA 2011 i7-5820K Processor - Intel : Flipkart.com

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-X99-UD4 Motherboard (Want to be future proof with the DDR4 config) Gigabyte GA-X99-UD4 Motherboard - Gigabyte : Flipkart.com

RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws 4 DDR4 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) G.Skill Ripjaws 4 DDR4 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) Mac (F4-2400C15D-16GRR) - G.Skill : Flipkart.com

GPU - wanted the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti but the Ti version is not available in India (atleast not on flipkart).

Cooler - Needed. Don't want to use the stock cooler.

Re-use the existing 2TB HDD's, CM Stryker Cabinet and Corsair 700w PSU.

The existing 1080p monitor is not sufficient for GTX980Ti GPU so recommended a 1440p monitor. Use that without any doubt.

PS: Sell of that 1080p monitor and GTX660 as well which should fetch you around 14k at least.OK.

If you are not planning for OC then don't go for costly coolers. Spend most on Good processor & Graphics card for future proofing & I think with that card you really don't have to worry about at least for 4/5 years or may be more :)

Go for the good gaming headphones rather than speakers. Mu suggested Mobo is having good quality audio as well Monitor is also having 3.5 jack.

Go for Sandisk 16/32/64 gb 3.0 pen drive rather then Optical drive as its really a waste now days but still its just 1k so you can add it any time if you want.

If you don't want those Corsair Keyboard mouse then go for Logitech one but trust me never buy Razer products. They are so costly, Less warranty period, Quality & Software is crappy. One more thing I don't know about Corsair software but you can check it on youtube may be & Corsair products having 2 year warranty.
Logitech gaming software is really good as well Logitech having 3 years warranty. I have G400S mouse & its really good.
I suggest Corsair keyboard due to nice rgb backlight where you can select different color light for any single button which is good to set for special game actions & mouse is having more keys then G400S.

Trust me don't go for SLI as there are so much problems in it as well you have to wait for Nvidia to release SLI profiles for new game & most of the times those are having many bugs as well 2nd card in SLI is not working at its full capacity so its a wastage of power & more heat.
The Graphics card I suggested is costly but its a 12gb 384bit so you really don't have to worry about any game & I think 4k is also not going to trouble you.

I change ssd as a_k_s_h_a_y mention pro version is costly but having 10year warranty. Now if you only want ssd for window+programs+games then I think 256gb is more than enough.

I am not a professional but just try my best :)

why buy a K series proccy + x99 mobo if you aren't going to OC?

250k budget then why not :) as well may be in future he will decide to OC

Enter "The Gareeb Indian" with some middle class gyan

Why buy a 250k PC when it offers hardly a bit more performance than a 100-120k PC ? Is the extra 10-20 fps worth the additional 150k ?

a_k_s_h_a_y

Dreaming
250k budget, investing in other parts brings far more value than 2 fps increase with better processor or mobo.

First, I always say, at these budgets, get the very best keyboard, mouse, headphones, speaker, camera.
Second, For SSD go with Samsung 850 Pro, because it has 10 year warranty and is way faster for heavier workloads than 850 evo.

Most important, No 2nd monitor ? Even 60k high end pc must have dual monitor setup.
The 2nd monitor is not for dual gaming, but it greatly increases productivity and you can run apps that support your gaming hobby. It will act as info display, start, guide, or chat or while streaming helps with stats.
You research in game builds on 2nd display as you play, the game support tools can run on 2nd display.

You should hit 280k easily. No problem.

once you go 2 monitors, you will never go back. I personally have 4 at my desk, 2 macs..

Cut cost on i7 and get the swanky Curved 144Hz 24" Display (approx Rs80,000)

Your Rs250k PC should LOOK like a 250K PC

Thank you guys for your suggestions. I have decided to go with the following stuff -

Processor - i7 5820k
Motherboard - ASUS X99 PRO
Ram - G.Skill Ripjaws 16GB(4x4GB) 2400Mhz DDR4
GPU - ZOTAC GeForce GTX TITAN X
CPU cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212X
SSD - Samsung 850 Pro 256GB (cause i feel like it's more than enough for the OS)

Won't be changing my monitor. I got the TV really close to the rig and i can hook it up in no time.

P.S. : How do you guys put all the stuff in the table like that ? :|

Read this if you have more confusion about card :)

Code:

One more suggestion go with 2x8gb ram sticks so may be in future in you want to go for full 64gb then 8x8gb is possible for you without replacing those 4gb rams & even if you not still two 8gb rams going to give you more room for bigger cpu coolers as now days rams are quite taller due to Heat spreaders.

About that table just use reply with quote option of any of those post having tables & you will understand ;)
