Re: Post what you purchased.

Purchased the following system from Nehru Place (Delhi) on 04 Jan 08.

P5K Premium Mobo-13500/-
C2D E 6750- 7750/-
Patriot RAM 2 X 1 GB (800 Mhz) Matched 2500 + 4%.
250 GB WD with 16 MB buffer- 2900/-
22" Viewsonic Monitor - 15100/-
460 W (Cooler Master) - 2800/-
Cooler Master Elite Cab- 1750/-

The ASUS EN 8600 GT Card was not available for love or for money (Quoted 7000 + 4% Tax). The Rashi guys also were uninterested. Had to settle for an XFX 8600 GT (256 MB DDR3) for 5300/-.

Crossed my budget by 5 Grand.

Lessons: Buy from a guy who can give all the stuff. He may take a bit extra but support reqd. Had to take the system back to NP 4 times. First he changed a SATA cable and checked out the RAM. Next time he changed the PSU and the power panel (of the Cab). Next time he changed the MOBO. All because the system wouldnt start up after working fine for one day.

The same problem occurred once I have reached where the temperature is 0 deg (up north). I removed the cell, reset the MOBO jumper and am in business. Guess the P5K Deluxe has it's issues (It is made in China- Why diid I not see this earlier?) . Not completely resolved. Maybe a BIOS update will do the trick.

Fingers crossed.

He'll not OC it as electricity bills will run high .I think he'll only OC it when he brings it home or only for testing purposes. But sure  he might give you the OC he achieved.
Do you know the details of 630i,if its based on the same SPP as the 650 and 680 then there won't be problems taking it to 3.6

i hav tested the Biostar GF7050V-M7 with my Q6600 and it oc'd to 2.7GHz.in this mobo oc was gr8ly limited by the fact that vcore cud only be raised to 1.27v from 1.21v.if the bios supported vcore vals of over 1.27v i think the chipset cud do better.

if XFX also puts such a limit on the vcore value i doubt it'll prove to be a better oc'er.

Re: Post what you purchased.

The prices are right.
You might wonder over the price of 8800GT but i myself have ordered one for 16,400 and its on its way.The prices of some hardware fluctuate like hell from place to place in India.
For example 8800GT might cost as less as 14k and go to a max of 17k for the plain version alone.
