Sorry for being late, finally here are my 690 II's pics, which I purchased a week ago: :D

I have tried to manage cables as properly as possible, but I am still not satisfied. Any tips? :p

^^ Awesome cabby and good cable management! Congrats!

Now it's my turn. Purchased the following items from Vedant Computers at Chandni Chawk, Kolkata (all prices are before 4% VAT):

ASUS X Series X53SC-SX536D Laptop ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Rs.33,500/-
[Intel Huron River Core i5-2430M (2.4 GHz, 3 MB) processor
Memory: 4 GB DDR3 1333MHz
Storage: 750 GB (5400RPM)
Optical Disk Drive: DVD RW 8X SuperMulti DL
Graphics : NVidia GT 520MX 1 GB DDR3 VRAM
Display: 15.6 inch HD Glare
Bluetooth: 3.0
Web Camera: 0.3 Megapixel (What a shame!)
Battery: 6 cell
Free Bundled ASUS Backpack for Laptop]

3 Pieces of 2 GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1333 MHz RAM (CMX2GX3M1A1333C9) (Total 6 GB) ... Rs. 2,250/-

SanDisk Class 4 SDHC 16 GB Memory Card ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..Rs. 800/-

Razer Goliathus Control Edition Mouse Mat, Medium Size (254 mm X 355 mm) ... ... ... ...Rs. 560/-

Creative ClearChat HS 390 Headset ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...Rs. 525/-

(Total Rs.37,635/- before VAT, paid Rs.39,140/- after adding VAT)

Good news:
1. The laptop (purchased on behalf of my son-in-law) is working great; great interior, but I don't like the glossy shell.
2. I now have a total of 12 GB RAM and plan to use half of it as RAM Disk, although I haven't installed the new sticks yet.
3. The Mouse Mat has solved my long-standing problem of restricted playground for the mouse. A very good surface too.

Bad News:
1. The Mic, my sole purpose of buying the headset, is simply trash! Even set to maximum, the recording level is so low it's absolutely useless for my purpose (Dragon NaturallySpeaking). Alas, I could not find my target stand-alone mic by Labtec. I just gambled with Creative, which misfired! I guess my limited budget of Rs. 1K is too small for the purpose. The headphone is so so, but that's inconsequential because I already have a pretty high quality Sony headphone (without mic, that is).

Thanks to you all, buddies! I must mention that my choice of the lappy originated from a pointer/advice by tenida. Although his selection (Model No. ... 492D) was not available, this is the closest that I could get. So special thanks to tenida.

@Nipun: Yah, the microphone became a party-pooper for me! Ah, well! As they say, you win some, you lose some!

Of course, I am still on the lookout for a microphone suitable for Dragon NaturallySpeaking, but my budget is still stuck at Rs.1000/- at the moment. If any such cutie is available in Kolkata, I shall really appreciate if anyone of you let me know.

Congrats to Nightmare for his new game! Unfortunately, I know not much about games and hence refrain from making any further comments.

You can try *www.amazon.com/Zalman-Zm-Mic1-Sens...MTMQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1326521569&sr=8-1. It will satisfy your purpose, and in your budget.

Congrats to all for their respective purchases. Got my Samsung Galaxy R delivered from Letsbuy. It rocks.

And purchased this Gigabyte 5770 via Erodov @ 4150/- all inclusive for my planned HTPC.

Temps are really good on this card, a bit too powerful for a HTPC, was looking for a 6670, but was not willing to spend more than 4k. In the end, this one fits the bill. And it is whisper quiet even under load.

Too lazy to pull out the camera or the old mobile. The card was captured by the Galaxy R cam. ;)
