AFAIK G-Shock are water, dust resistant etc. Durable against shocks etc.

Kitchen scale is essentially used to measure weight of food items or ingredients that are used in Kitchen for cooking and the max weight is 5 Kgs for them. Your mechanical weigh machine I guess can weigh upto 100kgs

Also most models(including mine) have additional features such as Thermometer, Altimeter, Barometer etc. This one seems to lack them.
