Fine! I read them in Amazon Reviews they both seems to fail after using 3 - 10 months
So only too scared off them!
Thanks for your suggestions till now

Hi,

cant say about those reviews, and cant even trust all of them. i've been using seagate's 160GB free agent Go for more than 2 yrs, seagate's goflex 500GB for more than 4-5 months, and seagate's laptop hdd 500GB as a portable hdd for same time, but till now all of them have been working flawlessly !

recently bought a WD My Book Essentials 1TB USB 3.0 ext hdd...till now no problem...

i think if you care for your devices properly, they wont bite back on you with problems, unless until its some unforeseen kind of issue. you can go for seagate/WD eyes closed; best brands for storage solutions ! seagate's preferred as per my personal opinion (since am using WD for the first time now)....

happy buying :) !

Both seagate and western digital are good for external hdd.But usb3 in wd hdd is added advantage and future proof also.

no idea about the review but my brother has been using 1 TB WD for the last 3-4 months..till now he has not faced any problems plus WD provides a 3 year warranty...
